Manufacturing Engineer

Global industry manufacturer and distributor, with locations throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia, is expanding again!

This position requires someone who is a highly motivated with direct machine shop experience and is well versed in machining / fabricating.

The Manufacturing Engineer position will coordinate all aspects of a Machine Shop Project from order placement until the job is released to the Shop floor. They will develop detailed manufacturing plans (routing) for projects that incorporate the most efficient methods. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

The Manufacturing Engineer will perform the following functions:
  • Assists Product Management with the development of new products and by generating cost estimates to be used when quoting potential manufacturing projects
  • Review design models and drawings during the design phase and work with Design Engineer to guarantee that the design allows for most efficient method of manufacturing.
  • Work with Material Control and Engineering to optimize the characteristics of material ordered to allow for more efficient manufacturing across a broad spectrum of products.
  • Works with Design Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing to develop new manufacturing techniques with the goal of improving cost position or allowing for development of new products.
  • Develops work plan that spells out the sequence of manufacturing steps and guarantees the most efficient method of manufacture.
  • Takes overall responsibility of assigned projects from order entry until the project is released to the floor
  • Develops initial timeline for the project and verifies that project can be completed by customer’s desired delivery date.
  • Create recovery plans for unplanned events utilizing less common manufacturing techniques.

  • Five or more years experience in manufacturing including welding, fabricating, and machining of multiple materials including Stainless Steel
  • Three or more years experience in planning and coordinating manufacturing activities
  • Strong People Skills
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Fluent in PC based software Programs
  • A high level of initiative, judgment, and discipline
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Hands on experience as a machinist
  • Hands on experience as a welder
  • Bachelors Degree in a Technical Field
