Job Description

Work with Oracle Financial consulting team to design, configure, execute the conference room pilot and implement a new application suite of selected Oracle Financial modules that includes; General Ledger, Accounts Payable and iExpenses, Fixed Assets, Enterprise Budgeting and Planning, Cash Management, Purchasing and iProcurement and Business Intelligence.

Post implementation, the Oracle Application Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for writing and executing test plans that ensure the integrity and accuracy of any and all modifications to the enterprise-wide Oracle Financial Applications environment. An in-depth functional knowledge of all Oracle financial modules being implemented is required for this position.

EDUCATION: BA or BS is required, preferably in an Information Technology or Business Administration curriculum.
Software Testing and Quality Assurance accreditation is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: At least five years work experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst, or some combination of five years work experience as an Oracle Functional Analyst Analyst and an Oracle Applications Quality Assurance, all of which were supporting an Oracle Financial Application environment, is required. Experience working in a PMO directed environment, on projects driven by business goals is required. Proven experience to independently assess the QA/testing needs of both large and small software projects and generate an accompanying work plan is required. Experience could include, but is not limited to, programming and unit testing, developing programming specifications, conducting of software package testing. Functional software testing experience could include, but is not limited to, performing the use of software as a test of its proper functional operation as a minimum. Previous experience as a developer in an Oracle Financial Application environment is highly preferred. Oracle Financial Application implementation experience is preferred.


• Strong background and hands-on experience with Oracle Financial Application modules listed in the Position Summary above.
• Thorough understanding of Oracle Financial Applications module interactions, as well as vendor provided application process workflows and best practice configuration alternatives.
• Ability to recognize, understand, document, and present logical conditions and combinations of conditions in software, which require testing through the creation, presentation, and processing of computer data.
• Ability to determine errors or the absence of errors in the software in order to understand or articulate the features and functions of the software.
• Knowledge of computer application software as it relates to performing duties of position.
• Ability to train end users in the set-up operation and administration of the computer system, as necessary, with accompanying travel of a short duration.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Discoverer.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to work with clients and team members.
• Ability to effectively obtain, analyze and convey information.
• Ability to prepare, organize and present information to groups of people.
• Strong communication and problem resolution skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft office tool set (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.).


• Support implementation of Oracle Financial Application suite described in the Position Summary above.
• Contribute to the Quality Assurance tasks that ensure the quality of externally and internally developed software.
• Work with the Oracle Functional Analyst to provide input into functional requirements; participate in the creation of design specifications; and assist with impact analysis.
• Work with the developers and other QA staff to document, validate, and test business process functionality in the Oracle Financial Application environment developed software.
• Contribute to high priority requests generated by either the development team or business team to support resolution of production problems.
• Provide QA quotes as it relates to the project lifecycle methodology; log tasks, and track progress in MS Project when applicable.
• Write test cases, conduct testing, document, and track resolution of software defects in SWB Tracker.
• Support the beta of software test sites, and assist with implementation, when necessary.
• Work with the Technical Writing team in reviewing documentation and training materials.
• Identify and implement process improvements increasing organizational capabilities.
